Her Majesty Queen Máxima opens innovative water transition factory NX Filtration

July 2024

NX Filtration is extremely honored to announce that Her Majesty Queen Máxima, together with the company's founder, Prof. Dr. Ir. Erik Roesink, will officiate the opening of our new water filtration technology factory. This festive event will take place on 11 September 2024 in Hengelo, in the presence of Hengelo's mayor, Sander Schelberg.

The opening of our large-scale and state-of-the-art factory marks a milestone in our mission to make innovative water filtration solutions accessible worldwide. NX Filtration’s technology, based on hollow fiber nanofiltration membranes, enables our customers to filter water in a highly sustainable manner. Polluted water from rivers, or even wastewater, can be upgraded to drinking water quality through a simple yet robust process. This method consumes significantly less energy than traditional methods and avoids the use of chemicals.

The opening of our factory in Hengelo by Her Majesty Queen Máxima signifies an important milestone for our company. The event symbolizes our technological advancements and acknowledges the dedication and hard work of our committed employees and partners. What makes our factory unique is our commitment to sustainability and self-sufficiency. In addition to over 1,350 solar panels on the roof and extensive heat recovery systems, this plant is the first in the Netherlands to use heat exchange with a neighboring data center.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Erik Roesink, founder and Chief Technology Officer of NX Filtration: “We believe that the opening of our plant is not only a milestone for our company but also for the broader community and industry, which will increasingly rely on advanced purification technologies for their water supply. We are proud of the continuous innovation power of the Netherlands and that we can contribute to accelerating the water transition and our international reputation as a leader in sustainable technologies.”
