Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) has allocated contracts for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 24,484 solar water pumping systems under Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (PM-KUSUM).
Leading the way, Oswal Pumps secured contracts for 6,471 systems, followed by Shakti Pumps with 4,573 systems, AVI Appliances with 3,360 systems, Himalayan Solar with 1,748 systems, Rotomag Motors and Controls with 1,086 systems, and Alpex Solar with 1,434 systems. Additionally, a total of 19 other companies, each receiving contracts for fewer than 1,000 pumps, collectively won contracts for 5,812 solar pumps.
Component B of the initiative focuses on the installation of two million independent solar water pumps, primarily for agricultural irrigation. Beneficiaries include individual farmers, water user associations, cattle shelters, farmer producer organisations, primary agricultural credit societies, and community-based irrigation systems, with a preference for small and marginal farmers.
In March 2024, Alpex Solar Limited announced it had secured an order from the Department of New & Renewable Energy, Government of Haryana, for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 1,434 solar water pumping systems.
