April 2025

Miahona, a leading Saudi company specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure, has secured a SAR1 billion ($267 million) contract for a major wastewater treatment project in Jeddah 1st Industrial City. The long-term agreement spans 25 years and was awarded by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon).

Under the contract, Miahona will be responsible for the rehabilitation, development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the industrial wastewater treatment systems. The scope of work also includes maintenance of external networks and lift stations.

The project will be executed within a Rehabilitation, Operation, and Transfer (ROT) framework. It encompasses capital investment, land utilization, service provision, and the generation of revenue through the marketing and sale of treated water for industrial use.

Miahona stated that it will utilize the designated site for the project and ensure consistent and reliable delivery of public services related to wastewater and industrial water treatment.

The company added: "The work also involves treatment of raw wastewater and industrial effluent according to the Service Agreement (SA) as well as marketing and sale of treated water for industrial purposes in accordance with the Service Agreement (SA)."

This initiative aligns with Modon’s commitment to enhance infrastructure and sustainability in industrial cities across Saudi Arabia.
