Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions, a subsidiary of Veolia, signed an agreement to significantly expand its operations in Wuxi, China. This expansion will be done in partnership with the Administrative Committee of Wuxi National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (WND).
The expansion aims to achieve mutually beneficial objectives. WND is a leading high-tech zone in China, and Veolia has been present there since 2003.
Under the agreement, Veolia will increase its production capacity in Wuxi and introduce new environmentally friendly products. The company will also transform its Wuxi site into a center for research and development and product assembly for China.
This expansion aligns with Veolia's GreenUp program, which promotes solutions for decarbonization, pollution reduction, and resource regeneration. The program combines Veolia's core businesses with growth areas like water technologies and new solutions for water resource management and novel pollutant treatment.
"China represents an important market for Veolia as we execute our GreenUp program to drive ecological transformation for partners and customers around the globe," said Anne Le Guennec, Senior Executive VP, Veolia Water Technologies. "Our enhanced presence will allow us to be the catalyst for emissions reductions, water conservation, and pollution prevention in the region. Through this extended partnership and new innovation, our Wuxi expansion exemplifies our commitment to greening up and creating a more sustainable future."
Veolia's Wuxi facility is the largest production base for Veolia in Asia Pacific and the only site with a complete water treatment product line, ranging from chemical reagents to equipment. The facility holds a leading position in the global water treatment and process treatment industries.
